Disney has it's own abbreviations, slang and terms. I've tried to put together a comprehensive list - feel free to comment if there is any I have missed.
Cast Member Speak
- ADO - Authorised day off - an extra day off that is agreed with your manager in addition to your scheduled days off
- ER - Early release - means you get to go home early (but you only get paid for the hours you work which is why you hear some CM's saying I have no money this week I took too many ER's hehe)
- Protein Spill - Occasionally called a Code V - someone has just thrown up (yuck!!)
- Lads / Lasses - Every Monday night each country has its own version of Lads / Lasses (sometimes known as Happy Mondays) the buys and girls seperate for each country and meet up in an appartment for drinking games and a catch up before either heading out or joining up with one of the other groups. The girls are called lasses the boys lads.
- 101 - something has broken down
- Alpha Team - call for an ambulance paramedic
- CIPO - college and international programmes office
- Price Management - the people who run housing
- Termination - getting fired from the job
Disney Terminology
Attractions - rides
Audience - visitors/crowd
Autograph - your signature when signing credit card bills, etc
Back Stage - areas of the park that are closed to guests
Casting - Cast Member recruitment division of the Disneyland Resort
Cast Members - Disneyland employees who interact with guests
Costume - the attire that a Cast Member wears while working in the park
Guests - visitors to the park
Leads ("Lead Role") - Cast Members who are in charge of a specific team
On Stage - the area of the park that is open to guests
Production Offices - any of the Disney offices where administrative work takes place
Production Schedulers - create employee work schedules
Role - a Cast Member's specific job
Script - Disney appropriate words and phrases that Cast Members should use while at work in the park; also a strict code of conduct that Cast Members adhere to while on stage
Show - Disneyland's visual presentation to its Guests, including colors, lighting, appearances and locations of attractions, themed lands, costumes, etc.
Spiel - script used for attractions / description of products (usually food) available Stage Managers - employees that oversee various operations throughout the park
Stage Schedulers - handle changes in work schedules and shifts
Abbreviations - used mainly on the Web but occasionally in conversation
AA - The American Adventure – American site in World Show Case - EPCOT
ADR - Advance Dining Reservation – used to pre-book tables for Disney restaurants
AK - Disney's Animal Kingdom
AKL - Animal Kingdom Lodge
AP - Annual Pass
AP - Artist Point
